After Clik on subforum, page is blank.. ?
Hi,
On my forum.. I have got some subforums and like normal, below them the threads, but now suddenly, when I click on the forum directly, it won;t open... the pafe goes blank... but when I click directly on the link to the thread, the thread opens and I can read it also.. and when I try to go to the mainpage above it.. to the forum, the page also goes blank. So strange as this just happend.. any idea what could have caused this ? Thanks. p.s. I didn't install anything new for a few weeks... --------------- Added [DATE]1254699072[/DATE] at [TIME]1254699072[/TIME] --------------- Hi, I also noticed that when guest ( not registered ) are clicking on the all of the topics, they get a database error that they can't view the forum.. But when registered user click on the topic, they can see the topics and threads. But 1 topic, nobody can see, as the page with the threads inside is blank... but when you click directly to a thread, from somewhere else, so not from the topic, you can see the thread.. Desc: 1) Main Topic ( this can't be clicked from the forum home page.. to see the threads below.. ) a) thread 1 b) thread 2 c) thread 3 Best regards, |

Try reverting your FORUMDISPLAY template. If that don't work, upload forumdisplay.php to your forum root.

We need to see the exact database error in order to help. It could be a table is crashed.
For the blank pages, see this - http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/blank_pages |

Hi,
Thanks for the fast reply, I have disabled all the plugins like mentioned and the forum worked Ok again, so I manually disabled them one by one, to see where the problem was, and somehow, 1 plugin was causing the problem. I have disabled it and now the forum works ok. Thanks again. Best regards, p.s. what is the best way to keep your database in best shape ? I am doing maintanance every month, but I assume there should be also other ways on handling the database on not going corrupt and be as fast as possible.. |

I'm not a database expert at all, but Marco has posted a few times regarding optimizing/repairing the database and said that you should NOT do so unless there is a problem. So, I've stopped doing that to my databases on a regular basis and they have been just fine for the last year or so.
