I want to spam my own forum
I've looked through vb.org and while it looks like many want a feature like this, none have it. I have a forum I launched a few months ago and I need to generate some content to make it look active. I have several ghost usernames set up, but it's difficult for me to find the time to have those usernames make bogus posts with the timing looking natural.
So I need to be able to automatically spam my forum. I want to be able to sit down, churn out a few dozen posts for a few different members, and schedule when each one would appear. I could take the RSS route, but I've never discovered the way to have an entire entry appear (not just a snippet). Also, I'd prefer to not have to set up a dozen separate blogs for this purpose. If there is not a script, hack or mod to do this here, can someone PM me with the name of a spam script to do it? From all the spam I've weeded through over the years, I know those scripts can do what I'm after. |

Thanks for the replies. Medtech - I found a mod, but it looks like it's for registration only and not for posting. I want to be able to schedule posts for the fake users. Is that the one you're using?
Desiderius - I'm not sure what you're asking me. Can you clarify? |

Does that matter?
It's not a warez site. It's a very mainstream topic, not at all related to things a younger person would have interest in. Not music, gadgets, clothes, etc. |

I know what you are looking for, it has been talked about here and requested. I have not seen the mod created yet. designing a mod that will generate posts that are not identical is quite a feat of engineering. there is a mod that detects multiple users with the same ip, it will make a post reporting the issue. that is about the closest i have seen to what you want. |

If all you want to do is schedule out some drafted posts, that should be pretty easy to set up. Just new threads, right?

Yup.

Read this article - Create Posts. You can probably set up a couple cron jobs with some pre-written text for your posts.

Thanks for the thread link, Lynne. It appears that solution is over my head, as I read through most all of the 6 pages and can't see how to even implement it, or how to schedule posts. I'm sure it's obvious to someone with mad coding skillz, but unfortunately I'm not that guy.
