Need a vBulletin Developer - will hire if need be!
First and foremost, I am a desinger, not a DB guy. I have been thrust into finding a solution for this because nobody else is willing to try, so here are my noobie questions
I need to create a system where authenticated users can enter about 30-40 fields with information and upload an image (the image can be stored in a DB or in a DIR on the server, makes no difference). They also need to abilty to update this data and the photo at any later date as well, without being able to access other users' data.
I then want a web page that lists each person's name and you can access their "profile" (all the data they entered and the image) by clicking on the name. About 70 different users will be adding data to the database.
I am running Vbulletin 2.0.1 so I *really* want to use the usernames/passwords from there, as it will save me a lot of work and make it easier on our users...but like I said I am a total noob here so that may not be possible.
I have been searching hotscripts.com in the PHP section for guestbooks and addressbooks that look like I might be able to modify to suit my needs, but so far I have found nothing that I can customize to fit our website's "look" or either they lack the photo upload capability.
So I am now to the point of pleading here and/or hiring the job out If anyone knows of a good resource on the subject, I am a pertty fast learner and am quite willing to give it a go myslef, or if you have experience with Vb and mySQL integation, please post here or shoot me an e-mail.
Any help/leads you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks all,
Iae

Can these 70 fields be added by you in the admin panel.. meaning add all 30-40 with a title and everything..
or do they need to be added into the usertable in the database.. as like field1 .. field2... what is the purpose of this..
as for the photo.. that will just take using an upload script.. kind of like modifying the avatar upload script.. cause it can be updated and will work for you... but I cannot figure out yet how to modify the avatar to do what I want.. so I am going to use a upload script.
I have thought of that too Brad, but then I run the problem of the photo. I can't increase my avatar size large enough for a decent photo becausee then I would have to turn them off in the forum (or make everybody buy a 21" monitor and run my kind of resolutions )
Do you think there would be a way to work an upload script into member profiles where a separate image than the avatar could be linked to a member? And then shown in the profile in place of the avatar?
Forgive me if these are outrageous questions; I am very new at this...
First off.. your questions are very legit, and not stupid or newbie like at all. So far you have good questions..
As for the upload script.. I plan to create one for almost the same reasons and I am sure that it can easily be modified to fit your needs once I get it done. I am working on some other stuff first, but probably this weekend my to do list will be down to that level
especially if it is going to rain in this area and I can't be golfing, or softball or anything
Just keep in touch either through pm or email (bradc@addictedusers.com) and I will see what I can do to help you with this.
Unless others want too. (that are far more superior in php than me.. lol)
