Hello to all.
I am curios from what has been seen so far if vb4 is worth waiting for? I know with the postbit leagacy thoughts going around and the fact that vb4 kind of looks like ipb 3.0 I am just curios of what your thoughts are about this. I have heard that vb is all about money and not the product as they have fallen behind on progress through the years. Maybe ipb is more stable and has more features but not as many mods. What do you think? |

And what is the actual question?
vB4 is not even released as an Alpha version yet, so nobody has experience. So answering any questions might be difficult. |

I undertsand, I am just curious based on what alpha testers may see or what people think bases on visual looks if it is a copy cat of ipb?
With trying to run a successful site I want the best software money can buy. |

There are no alpha testers yet, and once alpha testing has started they won't be able to comment as they will need to sign a NDA.

its not about the money , or what you can buy , Both software's have the capability to achieve what you need or want , its just what you prefer .... Now as far as either IPB3 or vB 4 , as Marco stated , you cant compare an unreleased software to a current one .. but if you need to start , then you know where to go ...
v4 Seems to be far still.. at least in my perspective , is it worth the wait? , you tell us .. do you like current vBulletin? then expect greater functionality with vB4... Its too early to decide however which to go for :-) , if you want the best , then yes wait and compare to your likes. |

I think that it is a mixed theme as you get designers complaining about postbit legacy and then others talking about the seo improvements. I just know that many people here are by far way more educated on the pros and cons of each software than I am.
If vb4 is going to be great and highly anticipated to be the best ever and very user friendly, then yes it seems to be worth the weight. But maybe IPB has came a long way and is really focusing on the user and is better than VB? I was just wondering |

My guess is IPB 3.0 is ahead of the vb 4.0, time will tell if I'm correct... but from what I can tell IPB has there act together lately. Take a look at there support forums and you will see many things that you don't see here, the main one being communication and features that we have been asking for over the last few years.
I'm waiting to see in the next month what happens, at that time we should have a better idea if VB4.0 is going to happen and if it's going to be worth being bent over for. |
