Default Printer Drivers - Win7 Problem
A bit of a long shot but here goes :

I have the samsung CLX-2160 MFP and the drivers will not install on Windows 7.
I have been to the samsung site and grabbed the various drivers (there is no win7 specific drivers so i grabbed the 64 bit versions) but none work.

I am on the 64 bit version of Win7.

Does anyone know how to get my printer to work or will i have to downgrade back to XP ???

Take a peek here, Not a samsung Print (HP i think?) But the gist of it it still the same

I think you may need to install the driver manually as oppose to letting windows do it, Have you tried manually ??

You can also, from Windows 7, Just right-click on the setup file and click on "Properties." Then select the "compatibility" tab. Select the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose Vista. Click "OK."

Now, right-click on the file and select "Run as administrator."

It should run fine!!! Hopefully

tried everything - it actually installs the driver but wont let me print.

Did you change the compatability tab for vista???

yes changed everything i could think of.
I noticed some of the apps that install with the print driver dont install on win7
Maybe this is part of the problem

right click on setup file .. compat .. change to win xp or vista and then try reinstalling .. i had same problem while installing softwares on win7.. that should solve the porblem ...

done all that m8 - i just think its not compatible with win 7 (64 bit version)

Try the 32-bit version and make sure you have the Vista drivers set.

just tried that - then it says the version not supported and ends

I was able to install their universal print driver on Windows 7 without problems. Can't test it though because I wouldn't even know where to get a Samsung printer at. I have never seen them for sale at any store locally.
