SK Mark Thread as Read - v1.0.0
Allow users to mark a thread as read without actually viewing the thread.
Users mark threads as read by doubleclicking on the status icon to the left of the thread title.
Moderators and admins with the rights to lock/unlock threads must use the moderation tool instead. Since they will lock/unlock threads by doubleclicking on the status icon.
Select the threads that should be marked read and select 'Mark Threads as Read' in the moderation dropmenu.
Marking threads as read will work on the forumdisplay and the search result page.
Remember that the 'Thread/Forum Read Marking Type' option still applies.
See help within vBulletin for details. (vBulletin Options -> General Settings)
Only tested with vBulletin 3.8.2 and 3.8.3.
Uses template hooks that only are available in vBulletin 3.8.x
Installation includes 2 steps. Copy 1 file and import product.
See intructions in the zip package.
Even tough I decided to mark this as unsupported I will of course help out as much as possible.
Nice. I just wonder, does this will not lower thread views. Some people can view only to make yellow icon disappear and maybe sometimes if they are already there even read about something what considered not interesting before - that gives a chance to reply.
So everything looks nice and including how easy it is to install it - great job!
Still I have to think before install on my forum
Just wondering, when I double click the icon it doesn't do anything =o It only shows a red cross on the topic icon.
Sounds like you have a custom icon for a locked thread and that you are locking the thread.
If you have rights to lock/unlock threads you can't double-click since that locks/unlocks per default. Instead use the moderation tools.

Just marking it read will not increase the thread views. So yes, I guess it will lower the view count if people are using it.
And of course, it's always a chance that you will miss something when you just mark a thread read instead of actually viewing it.
The main reason I did this was so you don't need to go in and view one of those game threads that you often find on many forums.
You know there will be nothing of interested there but it's still anoying to have it marked unread so you keep making a quick view to get rid of that marking.
Now if only those forums that I visit could install this...
