Same database for 2 boards
Hi, wondering if anyone would know this ...
I have a forum set up already, but im looking at setting up another one under a different folder on the same domain. On the 2nd forum, its not going to have as many sections, mods etc on it, but im wanting it to use the same database as my original forum, so it includes all the members. If someone signs up on the 1st forum it will count towards them being registered on the 2nd forum (and maybe vise versa) Is this possible to do?, would it create any problems if i just put the 1st forums database details in the config file on the 2nd forum? Any help would be appreciated Thank you |

I think, on your MySQL Databases bit, don't make a new database, and then on config.php (both) make sure the "Database name" and "Database Username" are the same.

It shouldn't create any problems unless you want to start individually changing things on one board, then everything you do will be done on the other board.
