What do you use for your computer?

I'm currently searching for a good one for my laptop (actually have been for awhile) but have heard MANY mixed stories about alot of them. So, what do you use for your computer and are you satisfied with it and/or what would you recommend?

I use CCleaner as well. Fast, simple interface.

They are pointless some of those might be even virus's i would go by a software at the store that you know isnt a software. Research it up. I dont use any of it though.

Best registry cleaner is a fresh format - nothing beats it.

Ccleaner and nothing beats "Brain 2009" - been using the last one since "Brain 2005" and never reinstalled Win in 4 years.

Best is to not install every tool that might look cool and do snapshots of the registry before installing something and once upon installation is completed again so you can have very clean uninstalls.

And don't use such Ram or Registry Defragmentation tools - they're all useless and do nothing. Since NT4 Win loads the registry in small blocks so it doesn't make any difference if the registry is 50 MB or 5 MB and Memory doesn't need to be defragmented - all these tools just use a lot of memory to free it afterwards that it looks you've plenty of free memory available - nothing than rubbish because this also cleans all internal caches and the good old 9x problems are gone since NT4 / 2K that the underlying DOS isn't used any longer.

I'm using ccleaner, although sometimes it's known to remove some needed software as well. (especially programs which require a dongle, ie. HiCad and similar)
Registry Mechanic is pretty nice as well.

How well do registry cleaners work when a system is already somewhat messed up?

one of my friends, her pc was in really bad shape registry wise, yet ccleaner helped fix it up and in process removed some adware etc
