You can do plenty of "SEO" work without adding either of those products already.
Here is a good article on vBulletin SEO Tips, the easiest thing would be removing the "powered by vBulletin" text in your title tag |

Of course it takes time for Google to update all of your pages - it's not a real time mirror of your site! It depends on how big your site is and how often Google sends it's spiders your way. Allow days, probably weeks, perhaps months before all of your pages have been updated in the index.
