Issue With Thread IDs
Hi,
We just copied our site over to a new server and domain. Before we transferred, we updated and backed everything up. We installed a fresh copy of VB on the new site, with a new DB. Once installed we loaded the backup form the old site into the new one, so we could keep our posts, PMs, etc. Everything has been fine, until i started posting new threads this afternoon (ironically threads to post issues with the new site in). Turns out, the thread ids generated on the fresh copy of VB already exist, and I can tell this because new threads are ending up as replies to old threads. My question is: where is the code/setting of what number the next post ID should be? Thanks, www.unknownsoldiersclan.us/barracks |

When you say you loaded the backup from your old site, did you make sure to run the upgrade.php script on it? Or did you not upgrade the version of vb also? Also, in Maintenance > Update Counter, did you run the update thread counters and then the update forums ?
