Can one file bypass Password Protected directories?
Hey guys, I have a test forum set up and I have protected the directory for the forum via the Cpanel -> 'Password Protect Directories'.
It all works fine but the problem is, I have recently installed vbCredits to test it out before putting it on the live forum but the developers need access to one file for me to be able to use it. Is there anyway to drop the password for one file only? Not a directory, just a file? |

Why do they need access to a file at all?

To activate the licence. The developers said it needs to be accessible at all times otherwise vbCredits won't work.

Sounds like you won't be able to test it behind a htaccess then.

Is there any way I can test it on the test forum?

And did they said what's the exact problem ? You also can setup the directory that only several IP's can access it with "allow from" and a "deny all" - if you run SSH you can set an "allow from 127.0.0.1" and access the Webserver through a SSH tunnel.
Still this may also result in a problem with activation |
