Subscriptions
Ok, just to mention, I have never delved into this. So please bear with me.
Our site is 13 months old, with approx 700 members. All members when joining , automatically added to usergroup : registered users. This bit is straightforward enough and I understand. Now. I want to add, that new members can join, but pay for certains features and access to certain areas. I want all existing members in current usergroup, to have normal access as they always have done. So how do I set up a new usergroup, that when members join, it asks them if they wish to use all standard features, with basic access, and permissions, or PAY to join the usergroup: registered users, who all have full access. Im struggling to think how to do this before I try doing it, as I dont wanna cock it up. I also dont want existing members to have to PAY. I would however like to move non active users on a one on one basis to the limited feature usergroup on an as is basis. Is this something painfully simple. ? I am in Subscription Manager, looking at the page: Add new subscription. I presume i need to create a new usergroup, called example : basic access How do i trigger subscriptions, when a new member joins, or default to usergroup basic access ? Then need to apply subscription somehow, but how does this all work, and function, and is the switching automatic, or do we selectively activate users permission based on subscription level, to corresponding usergroup. ? Argghhh Any help greatly appreciated, plain english please... hope someone can understand what I am getting at. |
