search engine bots
Hi guys,
Im not exactly sure what Im looking for or if I even need to look for something. On other forums, I have seen search engine bots mixed in with the other members on the whois online list. For example, Ask Jeeves shows up. Is this a feature that is built into vBulletin or is it some sort of mod? I dont really care if im able to track the bots, I would just like them to show up when they are online. Thanks in advance. |

It's a modification. Do a search on "spider*" in "all mods" "titles only" and you should find a few mods for this.

Lynne,
Thanks for your help! I took your advice and searched for mods, I was able to only find 1 that said it works for 3.8.x (i have 3.8.2). https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ghlight=spider . I dont think this will work for what I want tho, this looks like a way to change the permissions. I found one that looks like it is what I want, but it is for 3.7.x and in the graveyard. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ghlight=spider Lastly, I was looking at my settings and I found vBulletin Options > Who's Online Options >Enable Spider Display > Yes. Will this do what I want to do? Thanks again for your time. |

The option you found is for the online.php page, not the list of users on the forumhome page.
When you do the search, you need to do it for "spider*" not "spider". The * is a wildcard and will give you "spider" and "spiders" in the results. I use this mod - Spiders on ForumHome [NO FILE EDIT] |
