smilie page help plz

is it posible to have a drop down catagory on the smilie page so that a ton of smilies dont load just a set catagory that a user can choose from.

for example:
Cat 1: Happy, Fun, Laugh = 20 smilies
Cat 2: Mad, Fight, Gun'en =40 smiles
Cat 3: Welcomes, waves, Howdy = 60 smilies
etc....

at present I have 400 smiles and boy that pages is spitten and coughen

any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
