Reducing signature box height according to signature size
I'm having trouble with my signature boxes. When you write a short post the signature box takes up a huge amount of the posting space.
You can see on the attachments included where the problem area is. This is dead signature box space. What I want to do is have this space reduced down to where the signature starts. I've tried adding a height attribute to the sig box code but all it does is give me a set height for everyone's signature box so they all look the same. This is a nice bit of code but, for people with smaller siggies they end up with a huge empty siggy box because it's the same height as the siggy box for someone with a longer signature, for example. I hope I'm explaining this properly... if you think you can help but need me to try and be more clear I'll try! This is what I don't want but have now: Attachment 98820 This is what I want: Attachment 98821 (click on the images to enlarge them). Thanks anyone! Kate xxx |

I don't see a difference between the two images.
And, just a personal pet peeve of mine, signatures have gotten WAY out of hand for some folks (which is why I limit them on our site). Signature shouldn't take up more room than a post does IMO. |

I've edited the first screenie to bring the height of the dark siggy box down to where the signature starts for the second screenie.
I don't like massive siggies either. Mine is actually the longest we have, since I'm the boss and I have a lot to say! Most of them have one banner or one bit of text, maybe with some dragon eggs thrown in, but that's about it for the majority. |
