Need Guidance... a lot of it too!
I am an active member on several boards and have grown to love the vBulletin style.
Now I'm planning to set up my own forum (yeah, so what's new?). I already have purchased the domain name and am now ready to buy VB. The trouble is... I don't know what I must do next or where I go from here I know I need a hosting service but I don't know which one I must sign up with. A lot of people have offered a lot of advice and a lot of names - but I have no idea what I need to look for when deciding on a host. Here's some info from my side: I am in Singapore. My forum will have around 3,000 users. I won't host any video or audio. I won't have avatars and signatures. I don't want a dedicated server. I don't expect any income from the forum. I can spend US$10 a month on a host. Would some kind soul tell me what to do next? After I sign up with a host, how do I install VB on their server? Should I get a host in Singapore or in the US? My computer knowledge is very limited but I am not going to be discouraged! |

information about hosting: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=11
spending 10$/m on a host is what we call minimal, with minimal service and minimal security... it is not important if hosts are in Sing. or the USA... you need service... |
