A Few Questions About VBulletin Before I Buy

I'm the Admin of a local forum, we currently have PHPBB3 and are wanting to switch to VBulletin. However, there are a few issues with the current software that we have that we're hoping to get a fix for by switching to this software.

We want to create a forum for posting photos but we don't want any post made in there to increase the users post counts. Is this possible with VBulletin?

Does VBulletin allow guest posters to our forum that don't have to register in order to post? We want to allow guest to post in certain sections only, can we do this?

Can you password protect your forums, like a forum for only Admin's and Mod's? Can you make forums hidden from registered users, like not allowing certain groups to view that forum?

Just a few questions and I'm sure I'll think of more a little later. Any help or input on these would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have try vbulletin 3.8.2 in 4 days and i like it so much. You can build very good forums with vbulletin. vBulletin is much better than phpbb and mybb.

Well from what I've read, this is the forum software that's the best. It seems to have a good amount of built in features without having to do a lot of modding or anything like that.

Another question is about PM's. Does this allow you to view users PM's to monitor whether there is anything going on illegally? With the software we currently have, we have attachments disabled in the PM's but I'd like to have that working. We're worried about illegal file sharing by PM's, so that is why I turned it off.

Also, I've read where the current software we're using is easily or rather easy to hack. Does this software offer tighter security to keep someone from hacking our forum and taking it down?

there is a release here about reading private messages via the admincp...

there is also a release about attachments in private messages...

for the security side, i could say that there is security staff among the official coders of the software, but as the web is not perfect nowhere, when we face a security breach, they release a fix in the minutes...

Ok. I appreciate it. Sounds like this has more stuff built in that most other software we've looked into, I believe this is the most popular. We'll be getting things lined up and purchasing this software shortly...this is exactly what I think we need and we're tired of playing with the other software. Sounds like they are two worlds apart. Well, we bought it. It's awesome. We are currently trying to get it set up. I have just one more question.

How can your members by-pass or turn off the word censor? Like if some members don't want to read edited or censored post, where is the option for them to turn it off? I've looked all over the place and I can't find it anywhere. Is there a mod for this that has to be installed?
