I am currently running well on vBulletin 3.7.5 PL1. But seeing everything for 3.8... I'm wondering if I should upgrade and what advantages it brings with it.

Absolutely, the XSS security exploit patches are reason in and of themselves to upgrade.

"The" XSS exploit was patched? I think there have been 3 exploits that have been patched since your current version.
