Some of my users have been complaining that they can't log in. When they login nothing changes untill they navigate to another page then it shows that they are logged in.

I remember this happening in a previous version of vB but I thought it had been fixed.

Does anyone know the root of this problem so I can fix it.

check your domain cookie setting, then have the users delete their cookies from their browsers and then restart their browsers.
