Ok i've tried and tried and this thing which must be extremely simple escapes me
even on a testvb install with no mods whenever i get categories instead of looking like it looks like Its like it to look like the first screenshot so you can collapse categories etc my guess its a vboption i missed, any advice what i need to do? |

For categories, set Act as Forum (Will act as category if no) to no in the Add New Forum of the Forums & Moderators section.
For forums to that category, then select Parent Forum as the category you just created while setting Act as Forum (Will act as category if no) in this case to yes. That should do since it seems you are just making subcategories instead of forums. |

Looks like you have 3 levels:
- Community Forums --- Christianity..... ------Teachings..... The examples you gave only use 2 levels: - vBulletin Sales (category, act as forum = no) --- vBulletin Pre-Sales.... |
