PHP ERROR: unlock_tables() on a non-object

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function unlock_tables() on a non-object in /home/vhosts/jeepforum.com/httpdocs/forum/includes/functions.php on line 5218

Does anyone know what can cause this?
