I have spent some time looking for how to do this and have had no luck. I am a mod on one forum which is the blue modcp posted below and my mods have the following in the modcp when they login to the mod cp (gray)

I would like to give them the same options as I have on the other forum to ban users and search, if they try and search it tells them they do not have permission.

You must give them the permissions to do that before it will show up.
