Chmod Help

When i try to install a game it keeps coming up with

/home/mkcraig/public_html/forum/arcade/gamedata is write-protected. Please change CHMOD to 0777 via FTP.

I have then click properties and changed the code to 0777 and it still doesn't work ive also tried just ticking all of the options and still doesn't work and Ive done this on both the game data and the actual game and have no idea how to upload my chosen game, ive been googeing this error and have seen many people have it but i haven't found a solution



I'm using VBulletin 3.8.1

This error is complaining about the permissions set on the gamedata folder only. I have seen this before where my ftp client software would "seem" to allow me to change the permissions but not and ultimately, I had to go into my CPanel file manager to set the permissions. You may have to do that for this problem. Log into your hosting cpanel, got to the file manager and see if you can change the permissions there. HTH

is the arcade folder 777? You should check with you ISP to see if they have MOD_Security or Suhosin installed, both restrict the ability to set folders to 777.

are u talking about the game data folder or the actual arcade folder coz i don't think i can edit the arcade folder

everything in the arcade is now 0777 and still nothing

Well if you were able to see arcade to 777 how did you set it? What ever you did there you need to do to the gamedata folder as well.

nvm i found out you had to unblock the games from ur desktop before you upload
