I heard that vBulletin allows automatic archival of threads if they reach a certain rating. Is that true? I run an automotive forum and what it I want it to do for instance, is archive topics from the 1st Generation Forum to the 1st Generation Archive if they receive a high enough rating with enough votes.
Anyone care to explain how to do this? |

Not sure where you heard that, but there is no auto-archiving in vB. Heck, there's no *real* archiving to start. Auto-archiving would require some sort of cron-type entry. As such, we're trying to avoid adding things like that when possible.

Hmmm, bummer. Well that would be a neat feature don't you think? Something like:
if <rating>=high_enough_rating_rating and <votes>=enough_votes move <thread> to <corresponding_archive> That would be a great feature for technical archives where the same questions come up over and over again. So should I post this request in the hacks request forum? |

I can just move this thread there for you.
