Change field size for email notification
Hi, I'm running a forum (v. 3.6.8) which contains a private board, where some of the members would like to receive e-mail notification of new posts and new threads.
However, the field in Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum -> Email Addresses to Notify When there is a New Post is limited to 250 characters. Where and how do I manually change this to, say, 2000 characters? I'd be really grateful if somebody knows the answer ). (p.s. a step-by-step explanation in layman's language would be great!) |

Individual members should just subscribe to the forum.

Yes, that would be one option (although people do seem to have difficulties with doing even simple things like posting a new thread). Bear in mind that many of my users would not know how to do this, even when given detailed instructions.
I thought there might be a simple way of lengthening the field size somewhere? (i.e. changing a number somewhere in the phrases or similar) |

You can change the length of the column in the database, but i would really not suggest this solution.

Ah, ok. Maybe I'll just wait for vBulletin 4 to come along and hopefully there'll be a feature for this.
Many thanks for your reply! |
