"the developer" on main mod post
The Developer should be The Contributor as sometimes it's only an avatar pack or something the person is sharing.
--------------- Added 04 Feb 2009 at 03:25 --------------- oh and btw, consider changing Coder user title for Mod Contributor, and Designer for Style Contributor and Graphics Contributor. this way there's less stuff posted just to get titles, and we can get the real stuff posted. also I would be much more confortable wearing "Contributor" tags than "Coder/Designer" (also I'm no designer, I just know how to save a gif from a cropped psd). |

Sadly, we can't please everyone. I'm sure other members of the staff will have their opinions on the matter and it will be discussed. I do appreciate your opinion and I like your submissions to the site. Thanks |

How about, Not allowing anything posted in the database unless you've created it? This would solve any issues with regards to titles. I can't see why the database isn't moderated in the first place. Personally dream, I think your suggestion is sound. Why?because atleast there's no false titles being allocated to people who have simply posted other peoples works and/or saved images through some other persons work.
That's with regards to your edited part. I'm sure it could be applied to the developer/contributor area. If someone is posting other peoples work then they are somewhat contributing (not developing). If they have wrote code/designed from scratch then they have developed that submissions which would warrant the developers tag showing in the postbit. Quality over quantity and gaining titles and tags should not be an agenda to breaking copyright and posting other works and stuff you cannot really support. The motives are there (which I explained before my post got deleted) and it makes way for a database/members having flase tags throughout the board. The whole title/tagging buisness should def be refined and databases more closely watched for false tagging. |

Well it's hard to check whether someone created it or no.Actually it's impossible to tell, unless we know the source.

Developer may not be ideal, but its good enough, there are no plans to change it.

I understand there's no way of checking all submissions. Nothing some good ole work won't cure though, and a little motivation. Like I said, The idea is sound... your suggestion should atleast, at best, be entertained. Unfortunately, it's not.
Once I have the time, I'm drafting a proposal to .com that we get a paid developer to maintain the org. It's biased that we have 1 persons stamp dominating the features implemented on the org. Ideas/suggestions should be embraced more here. Like I said, your suggestion was sound it needed more discussion on the matter and the idea broken down a little, refined to the point that members were tagged with a more appropriate prefix. |

That would be pointless. If you have something to suggest about vB.org, you will need to do it on vB.org. vB.com is a different site and has no say over vB.org. Also adding a paid developer would not make much of a difference.
