Extend search function?

Hello, I'm trying to extend the search function in vbulletin with more options?

I was looking in the search.php and the plugin-system for something to hook up to, but couldn't find any good hook for the WHERE-statement.

There isn't a hook everywhere that one may need one. Sometimes you need to edit the file directly for what you want.
