Default Photography Forum

This is my wifes Photography Forum. Would anyone care to take a look and give their thoughts and opinions?

My wife has an interest in Digital Photography. She takes wedding pictures, pictures of kids, we even have a make shift studio in our dining room. When someone wants their kids pictures taken, we move the dining table out of the way and hang a sheet on the wall.

It's not bad. I'm not keen on the photo instead of a logo thing. If anything you should have the logo on top of the photo.

Yeah the big photo at the top seems out of place. You probably should get a have a pro design a nice logo for you.

Definitely and ambitious start to a new forum - so many forum topics. You might be better served to start smaller which will make the forum look more active. Then add new topics as you gain members.

As stated, The logo looks out of place and should be replaced which I'm sure your working on. I would reduce the width of the navbar to the width of the forum data so it looks aligned and uniformed.

To break your forum out why not set the page background to a colour (say white or another light colour) instead of the pattern and have the pattern displayed only in the body? This would break the style out imo

I suggest trying it and see what you think. Overall, it's a little too red for my liking but it's down to preference at the end of the day but i would re-colour the buttons to something different to break out from the dominating red though that is your choice.

Not bad.

I love the simplicity of your forum, it looks very clean. I see why you used red as the flowers in your header picture are also red but I agree with Shelley in that it's a little too red for my taste as well. A lot red is too bright for my eyes. With that beautiful picture on the top, I would love to see your forum follow this. My eyes go from seeing a beautiful picture to seeing all the stark overbearing red, especially the statusicons. I think your forum would look really nice if you followed the nature, sort of natural feeling of your header picture. Perhaps a garden theme? Also, remember that most people ordering photography are woman, mothers, brides ect... maybe a more feminine feel as well?

That's just my silly take.

Gabby

As far as the forum style goes, it seems nice, but seriously, remove the 'you must have javascript enabled to view this site'. It's horrible usability and SEO wise, and frankly, the person who came up with that mod should never have released it. That and it has no use on any of the sites I've seen it on, including this one other than to annoy people with NoScript or non javascript enabled browsers.

The sites header was updated a couple of days ago. So if anyone wants to, take another look.
