PNG24 or Opacity?
I'm working on one of my sites right now, and I was wondering how you would handle semi-transparent objects.
Should I use CSS Opacity, or should I use PNG24? Is there any way to make a background image semi-transparent? Thanks! --------------- Added [DATE]1232870439[/DATE] at [TIME]1232870439[/TIME] --------------- Never Mind. There's no way to do what I want with CSS Opacity...at least on this project. |

Yes, well sort of using a Photoshop trick.
Create a "new" background that's transparent, then create a second one thats a colour, and copy it over the first one, so you have two layers. Then you can use the layer tools to fade the the coloured one out. So you end up with a semi transparent image |

Thanks...that's what I've done on other sites, but on http://www.cemagraphics.com, I needed to use PNG24's because of the fixed background that I want to kinda show through on the page.
If it weren't for that fixed background that I want to show, it would be no problem. I know it excludes many people from seeing the effect I want to show, but they really should upgrade their browsers. |
