Database error in vBulletin
Some days I am getting 20+ of these errors per day on a fairly large forum I have.
Some days there are none. My hosting provider is unable to figure out what it is. Anyone have any ideas what is wrong? Thanks. This is the error message: Database error in vBulletin : Invalid SQL: SELECT varname, value, datatype FROM setting; MySQL Error : MySQL server has gone away Error Number : 2006 Request Date : Wednesday, January 21st 2009 @ 08:46:45 PM Error Date : Wednesday, January 21st 2009 @ 08:47:06 PM Script : http://www.123456789.com/newthread.p...newthread&f=19 Referrer : http://www.123456789.com/forumdisplay.php?f=19 IP Address : 71.237.100.70 Username : Classname : vB_Database MySQL Version : |

If your host can NOT figure out why mysql connections are going away, i would get you a new host.
Tell your host to up the timeout limits for SQL and do a SQL reload. wait_timeout connect_timeout This could also be caused by table lock timeouts as well. |

Yes I agree, the host should figure this out.
I have complained about this to the host for 2 months, but they refuse to take the issue seriously. Just pretend that all is well. It is Resellerzoom run by Hostingzoom, they are supposed to be good, but they have really let me down on this. I am forced to look for another host I guess. |

Sounds like its definitely time to look for a new host. Make sure you find some reviews of your next host, and weigh up your options. (And remember that you will usually find bad reviews, happy customers rarely make reviews.)
