For 3.8.0, I want to add an external login on an HTML page.

Please point me in right direction

Hi Dismounted, this will also come in handy for me Do you know exactly where the login code is, as i've looked in several places without luck

The login box is in the navbar. However, this is the box only and will only display the box and once logged in, will still display the box. I'm guessing this isn't what you want though. You probably want that once logged in, it will display the usual "Welcome, X" thing, in which case you will need to include global.php and add conditionals around the box.
