parenting, my prefered topic... lol
(ok, i own 14 parenting sites.. lol)

yeah, that big family above all others, a lot of advertising about them, but hey, they wanted it.. lol

actually i'd like to have the same kind of family... my wife too, but our style of life is too complicated to make it happen right now. we have 4, we plan on having others in 2 or 3 years, as we leap each kid with a 2 or 3 years difference from the start.

The mind boggles at having that many children. Not just having to be pregnant all the time (and breastfeeding for over 18 years!!!), but the noise in the house, the chores to be done, the homework to help with, all the soccer games, marching band practice, food to make (oh my gosh!). When do they find time to even have sex and get pregnant? Sorry, not for me.

Two kids of my own and a step-son is enough for me.

Well, I'd have to disagree with you there, If your a loving parent and take up the responsibility in raising your kid providing for them and making life happy for them then there shouldn't be a limit on how many kids you have, ever, (unless we drastically have an oxygen shortage) or your one of these parents that abuse kids which a sterilization process should be enforced.

The parents aren't raising these children, the children are raising the children..

Let's see.... there are 18 children and 24 hours in a day. 8 of those hours are usually spent working, another 2 hour to and from work, getting reading for work and so on. Oh yeah, and time for sex of course.

Hummm.. doesn't even leave one hour of parent time for each child.

Now lets add in the environmental cost of all those diapers, laudrey, heating, cooling, gas and everything else.

I'm all for a big family within reason but this is just gross, especially when the parents keep having sex and sending the responsibility off to the children.

Additionationlly, the mother was told that having more children could kill her due to uterine rupture problems. That kills, and kills quite rapidly. So what is that telling her daughters? Lie down with your husband whenever he's horny-no matter what- no matter what the consequences might be? Lovely. But then again, maybe she's the horney stupid one? Who knows.

I think they are addicted to media attention and the drama that comes with in.
Just gross all the way around....

So what exactly is your real problem with these people? How have they damaged your life in any way? Would you feel the same if they were Amish (who also happen to have big families) and not on TV?

You see, We have a problem. Before that post there was next to no information about this family. Remembering that we all don't live in the usa so people are likely to get the wrong idea in what your trying to convey over and the frustration your feeling towards this family and the way they bring up their family. That response would have been better placed in the top thread and a link to some kind of article so we can verify your feelings.
