Moderate SOME new members

If a mod for this exists already, I haven't found it. What I am looking for is a modification that will allow me to moderate SOME new members.

I have my forum set up so that new members are not moderated. I can't be at the computer all the time and don't like making new members wait for their join request to be verified. With all the spam coming from gmail though, I would like to have it set up so that any new registrations that are using a gmail address have to be manually approved. A field to add gmail, yahoo, whatever email addresses you want to moderate would be perfect.

I know that some sites have simply banned gmail and other free email services from registering but I have a lot of legit members who use those services and get new ones all the time. I hate to completely ban those emails.
