Default OMG! Warning your blood will boil community members.

Did you know that some countries are allowing thier fisherman to use dogs and cats as live bait for shark hunters? LIVE bait. Sickens me. Where have I been, I didn't know this until today.

Here is the link ... warning some graphic photos half way down the page.

http://www.seashepherd.org/get-invol...tml#la_reunion

Thoughts?

1,000 (Euros)
For the first successful conviction of a fisherman using a dog or cat as shark bait and €200 for each conviction thereafter

Dogs and cats are also involved in an assault on nature, this time as victims and as bait. On the French island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean, fishermen have been using live dogs and cats as bait for sharks.

This practice is specifically outlawed by French law but the law, as in many places throughout the world, is ignored by fishing communities who apparently believe they are above the law.

The dogs and cats have hooks passed through their snouts or through the tendons in their legs and the hooks are attached to lines and rods. The hapless animals are then tossed into the water where their struggles attract sharks.......

In short, people found guilty of using cats or dogs as bait should have the hook pronged in their ass and cast out onto the ocean as shark bait.

Cruelty to any animals should be enforced with a heavier sentence on what these kind of people get (esp here in the uk).

I was thinking more like covered with small papercut type incisions with rusty razarblades, then dipped in alcohol, THEN hooked though their asses and launched in the ocean. OMG i'm just stunned. I think I'm gonna have to act on this one.. Just absolutely sickens me. I cannot believe the US hasn't intervened. Well yes I can what am I saying.

human beings are animal first, so they have to be considered as equal to dogs and cats when things like this occur... no shark baits please, call the lions, it worth it...

actually i had 3 mini-sharks in my aquarium at the end... very friendly with the red fishes... they were always running across our master aquarium (100 gallons, half the width of the living room).. the party began when we added living plans in it.. they were fighting with the seaweed...
