Copying content - reporting?

So, I posted some walkthroughs on a site. I was searching my walkthroughs last night on Google for fun, and realized someone had reposted them on their site (which has bout 3700 members) - and I notified them, asking them to remove the walkthroughs, since no credit was given, or even attempted.

Now the Admin of the site, basically told me to **** off. And the moderator's just laughed.

What can I do, that can help actions to be taken? Since I can't 'physically' remove them from his site, what can I do to report him?

He's a VB user also booo!

If you're really serious about taking action, get a lawyer - there's really no where you can 'report' him for duplicating your content.

Ya, I'm not 'that' serious about it. Just peeved the route they took, after I asked nicely to give credit, or remove it.

Do what is morally right to you, tell him to 'F***' back... is mind refreshing...

Legally it's very hard, since you don't provide a clue of the site, to see if it's a legal entity or just another website you can't do much about it...
and for future reference, hit them where it hurts, on 'd-money!' [Hosting Company, AdSense, etc]

Ya, after looking at it, I didn't put 'Copyright' or state that it shouldn't be replicated. So therefore it was MY mistake for not putting that on there.

Just didn't realize someone would be selfish enough to claim things as their own >_>

here's a link if you can't afford a lawyer,with the DMCA information and threaten them with that.

Can't you also contact their host provider, tell them your story, and see if they get pulled down? I've had people (even here at .org) copy stuff piece by piece.. and then wig out and act like a complete child when confronted. My example was so minute, that I didn't really care.. but of course the kids attitude afterwards was what got me peeved off.

Admit your mistake, and correct it. Acting like a 6 month old gets you no where, and fast.

I agree, I had to do this a while ago over some graphics (military insignias). I had him draw up some papers for $50, looked up the contact info for the site and sent them off.

That was enough to get him to remove my stuff!
