Let's talk about something?
I think this may be my first thread in the community lounge so please go easy on me. Rice, we love the stuff, we know it originated from china. or did it? Could the origins of rice and the paddy fields from which they came be a big fat conspiracy?
Your thoughts on the origins of rice from the paddy fields of china. Edit: Sources close to my heart have stated that rice comes from africa but I'm sticking to my guns just for the hell of it they are wrong. Time to debate. |

I'd also like to refute some points that rice is not from China or Africa.
The domestication of rice started in India. |

for the sake of a good debate and civil cohabitation, I support Shelley's argument and I congratulate her on her witty idea... [Mmmh... love rice!]

I have to steal the recipe from my GrandMa before... asap!
How to Make Rice with Milk A dish you should certainly try, rice with milk. Many people have tried it, but not so many know how to make it. Here are the steps to prepare it. Ingredients * 2 cups of water * 1 can evaporated milk. * 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk * 1 cup of rice * 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract * zest of a lemon (optional) * Ground cinnamon Steps 1. Put the water in a pot with the rice. Bring it to a boil. 2. When the water is boiling, (add optional lemon peel),lower heat and wait for the rice to cook over low heat. 3. When rice is very well cooked add the vanilla extract 2 tablespoons, the evaporated milk, and sweet condensed milk. 4. Stir the mixture constantly until it reaches the desired consistency. 5. Let it cool. 6. Finally, serve it with a dusting of ground cinnamon. |
