Hello,
Is there any way to avoid that names of Users Awaiting Moderation appears on "What's Going On?", "Statistics" or "Welcome to our newest member" before I accept their registration? Thankyou in advance |

I dont think there is, when they reg, it automatically shows who they are, sometimes they try to put websites, and spam BS as user names, I have to delete scumbags

I can't believe vbulletin will not official fix this problem. It seems pretty simple to me, why would you show any new members until they are officially a registered user?

Edit your Index.php file,
Replace: Code:
$newusername = $vbulletin->userstats['newusername']; $newuserid = $vbulletin->userstats['newuserid']; Code:
$newuser = $db->query_first("SELECT userid, username
FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "user
WHERE usergroupid NOT IN (3,4,8)
ORDER BY userid DESC
LIMIT 1");
$newuserid = $newuser['userid']; // set template variables
$newusername = $newuser['username'];
Hope this helps... |

Thanks a lot. I tried your solution and it seems that it works but the "WHERE usergroupid NOT IN (3)" still appears ((COPPA) Users Awaiting Moderation). Best Regards |

I can't believe I finally found this simple fix to a problem that many forum admins have been struggling with for years. I wish the search in vBulletin was better. I found this through a google search. Thanks hantousha!

Thank you for the help. This is very useful. Despite enabling human factors in registration, a lot of spammers still get through. Our board is setup forcing 1) email authentication 2) users awaiting moderation to prevent spam; however, they still pollute "Welcome to our newest member" and other areas.
It would be great if this support was native to the forum. |
