Category: New Posting Features - Version: 3.7.x Rating:
Released: 11-18-2008 Last Update: 06-29-2009 Installs: 126
Uses Plugins
Is in Beta Stage
No support by the author.

The newest version can be found here

How it works:
This hack will prevent a user from double posting and bumping threads (if bumping results in double posting). The new post will simply be merged into the previous post. If the user posts attachments, they are also kept and merged into the previous post.

Features:
  • Set time interval
  • Set the (Primary) usergroups this hack should work with (to allow admins and moderators to do what they please)
  • Disable hack

History:
  • 1.01 Fixed bug with temporary attachments getting moved
  • 1.02 Fixed double-double quick reply bug

To Add:
  • Option to move threads to another forum
  • Add date when bumping

Note:
Don't forget to click Mark as Installed!
Please pardon me if you find a bug. Report it instead of giving me a bad rating, I will fix it!

Nice idea, but this sounds to be same as Xenon's hack, which still works on 3.6.x and 3.7.x

Will it cause the original poster a problem ? or only poster replying this will effect ??
only reason i am saying this, some of my Posters like to reply for adding more links or more info, not bi cuz of Bumping the post !!!

What will happen with this scenario?

A user post image attachments posts after posts (images from an event), and because of limit attachment per post, the user has to keep posting. Will the hack merge all his image attachments together and create problems (i.e. too many attachment allowed per post...)?

It is great to know you are supporting this, and since you are, would it be possible for you to add the time and date the post was merged like they do here on vb.org thanks.

Can we see what it looks like if someone does a double post? Screenshot?

Also, does it work with quick reply? I noticed the last one by Xenon was having issues with quick replies not being recognized as a double post.

And, I think that the time and date the past was merged would be great as well.
