How well do forum promotion forums promote your forum? I'm thinking of sites like promotemyforum.com and the link directory on the site. Does adding a link to your site really help that much?

Social sites would probably work better, or specifically using stumbleupon. The link directory sites generally don't do too much. Also if you can get links on pages with high page rank it will help with SEO.
