Default is it possible to emphasize staff's posts/comments with a unique BG color?

Hey
I want to install a forum on my website, however, I didnt make my mind yet about which forums software I am gonna use (VB, IPB, PHPBB,etc), because I have special needs for my forum. I came here to ask about specific features and whether they are available in VB before purchasing, and thats why I registred at your forums. Hence, it is totally nonsense to oblige users to verify their VB customer licence before they can participate in the forums.. These are support forums, and you should at least make a special section in the forums for new customers who dont have licences yet and who wanna ask some stuff about your software.

I hope you do this asap, and in any case, I want to ask whether VB has such a feature that enables the admin of a forum to set the posts of a prticular user group to be displayed with a unique background color. For instance, I want the posts of the staff members to have unique color of the background, which differentiates them from the other posts of normal members , thus emphasizing them. I am not talking about the title of the topic only, or the colors of the staff's names.. I am taking about posts and comments inside topics as well..

The thing behind this is, we will be running a forum for providing legal consultancy and assistance.. I want the comments of the staff members ( who are attorneys / lawyers) to be displayed in a unique color, since this comment of the staff will be the "answer of the expert" , and therefore it should be different than the method the normal posts are displayed, to make them more noticable and remarkable.

so is this available in VB ? or any VB mod ? if not, where in other forums software can I find such feature?

Please respond as quickly as possible, thankfully

There is not an actually feature that you toggle on or off to make posts by Staff be displayed differently, however this has been discussed several times before in the General Disussions area and an easy method posted to do this.

You've found it champ. The presales forum, doesn't require a license and lets you ask any questions you want about vBulletin

Yes, this is done with a simple modification or template edit
You can find one such example thread here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...or+staff+posts If you do a little searching after you decide to purchase vBulletin, you'll notice there are a few more.

I'm going to be honest w/ you...

phpBB... Decent
IPB... Decent
VBulletin... Like a honeycomb for Pooh Bear

Security etc.. best route = VBulletin
Overall Look and functionality = VBulletin

Basically you pay for this, you get support. You have all us coders on here who create mods and most are free and very great while a few charge etc.

The colors, that can be done very easily.

Basically, I wanted to be nice before you thought I was being mean... YOU need to research them all more thoroughly plain and simple as I read your first post and thought... you did not do your part but we need to do ours by telling you what you can learn on your own?

Just take your time or take my word, either way works for me

Edit : Sorry By Mistake , Will Edit Again As I Read These Comments Above

EDIT 2 : Well thank you all .. I really apreciate your co operation.

For FRDS (wierd name :S ) Regarding the opening of this topic where I complain about not being able to post a topic.. that in fact was the message I have sent to the forums admin after I tried to post on several forums here and wasnt given permission, and before checking the pre-sales section.

When I came here, I forget to omit that part of the message the contains the complaint.. so its my fault indeed.

For The LastSuperman I have tried to search, but didnt know what are the phrases used in such topics .. I thought something like "different post color" or "highlight post color" .. but never found anything..

And I gotta say something, I have been administring IPB for years now (http://www.i3tesam.com/forums ) , and I have really enjoyed it ... at least there were very least amount of security holes that need to be fixed frequently.. where on the other hand, I have noticed a remarkable amount of security fixes for VB very frequently...

Anyway, I have already made my mind to test VB this time and get the answer myselfm, particularly after you assured me that such thing like what I wanted indeed exists

Thank you all again ..
