About Database Tables 4 New Hack

I'm trying to lead my first hack to the light and while I was reading through some tutorials I fond that there is an exact area for installation code and uninstalltion code.

my questions are:

1- Is installation code area the only way to creat my hacks table in data base?
2- Is always better to create seperate tables for my hack?
