use the second disk for raid1 or mysql?
moving mysql to the secondary disk seems like a good idea but then setting the two of them up as raid1 does too.
Can I have my cake and eat it somehow? centos5.2 btw tia |

If you want more I/O go for mysql on secondary disk, and remember to keep backups offsite, as RAID-1 isn't a substitute for backups.

so it's an either or situation. I should just go for centos with no raid and mysql on the second disk? I'm already backing up offsite daily.
