Yahoo! answers has been successful by allowing their members to select/vote for the best answer to a question. See: http://answers.yahoo.com
This would be a valuable addition to a forum.

Please consider to code a modification that allows members to select the best answer.

Unfortunately, Gio-logists mod affects all threads in a forum, and does not allow selected threads to be used as answer threads. It's either all or nothing.

Therefore I renew my request for a modification that allows members to select the best answer.

Ajax Helpfull answers is little bit what you looking for. It allows moving best rated post to the top. "Get Top Post per Thread - If enabled the top rated post will be shown at the top of a thread." and "Hide Negative Posts"

Yahoo Answers style Mod has also downsides when applying at forum (loosing posts order, discussion) read here.
