3.7.3 and 3.6.11
This might sound like a silly question but I was having a look at the latest releases that are on the home page.
There are two new releases 3.7.3 and 3.6.11. When I first purchased my license the latest release was 3.6.9, I have updated my board to 3.7.0 as I thought that was the next release. Was the next release 3.7.0? Or could I have got 3.6.10? I am thinking that I am missing something here, but cant figure it out I am sure it is a obvious answer. Is it because you have an option to stay with 3.6 until 3.7 is full tested? |

3.7 has already been beta tested for a long time and has production status at this moment. The current (and developed) version is 3.7.x.
Older versions like the 3.6.x series are however still patched for security related issues. |

Also note that you don't need to upgrade directly to the next version. You can skip a version if you wish. But once you've upgraded you can't really downgrade (unless restoring a backup).
Those that don't want to use the 3.7 version of vBulletin can continue to use the 3.6 version if they want. |

Thanks for your replies guys,
I am still not sure why you would want continue with 3.6.x when there is 3.7.0. would you do this if you dont want the new features of 3.7? maybe because you have a large board with lots of mods? Quote:
Sorry I didn't mean testing I should have said bugs. |

Not everyone needs/wants the features that are always on offer, so most of these people don't have a need to upgrade. Modifications/customisations also mean that it takes a lot longer to update a larger board. (E.g. see Paul's post here)

3.6 will still have bugs reported - it is pretty much impossible to create a 100% bug-free piece of software.

Ok thanks for the quick reply guys
I understand now This is a bit off topic but when you mouse over a members title it will say, Release level 7 , Release level 3 and so on What does this mean? |

I assume its related to the Modification section. (The number of mods you've released and other factors probably)
