redirect to user profile

i'm wondering about this: i saw that many users when answer to another users and post his/her name they make a redirect to their userprofile ... it's a new option? or simply they paste the url into the bbcode?

Just create you own Custom BBCode

With the replacement:

<a href="member.php?username={param}">{param}</a>

Obviously it doesn't check whether the member exists or anything.

Does that work with usernames that have spaces in them? (Yeah, I know I could just try it, but I'm feeling lazy at the moment and just asking.)
