Default Problem with Prefix

The prefix system is a demand of many people and has been requested many times. Therefore, it appears in vBB 3.7.x. Actually, the prefix system is appears in phpBB long time ago. phpBB has supported Multiple Prefixes, i.e. some prefixes can be added to one thread. For example, there is a forum for selling, hiring and buying. I have a product. Other people can hire it or buy it. So, when I post the thread, I want to put 2 prefixes [HIRE] and [SELL] to the thread.

The prefix system in vBB was born after phpBB, so I think this system should be better or at least similar the prefix system in phpBB. However, prefix system of vBB is just single, only one prefix for a thread. Is there any reason for vBB to do that? How to make the prefix system become multiple? My forum really needs this function.

I wouldn't ever had thought of the need for multiple prefixes. "Hire" and "Sell" mean different things after all...

There was probably no reason to allow multiple prefixes, that is probably the reason why it wasn't included. You could maybe make a Suggestion at the vB 3.7 suggestion forum on vBulletin.com and/or place a request in the modification request forum.

Thank you very much for your reply. Hire and Sell are different. However, one product can be hired or sold. For example, I have a projector. Some people don't want to buy that just for using one or two times. They can hire it from me. If there is someone who want to buy it for using it in future, then he can buy it from me. One product, 2 actions. I don't want to make 2 different threads (one for hire and one for sale) for a same product. Moreover, if I sold the product, then I have to close 2 threads. If my forum has 200,000 members, how many duplicated threads will have? And what's happened if they forgot to close one of those two threads?

Anyway, I followed your suggestion to post a request in modification request forum.

I will give you another example for the demand of Multiple Prefixes.

As you can see from Modifications area of vbulletin.org (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=198). Some mods are AJAX, some are not. So, I can make one Prefix system including 2 prefixes: AJAX and NON-AJAX.

Moreover, when a member downloads or installs a mod, it is necessary to add the corresponding prefix to that mod. So, I need one more Prefix system including 2 prefixes: Downloaded and Installed.

Therefore, one thread in Modifications area can have 2 prefixes, e.g. [DOWNLOADED] [AJAX] Slide Panel.

Is there any way to add multiple prefixes to one thread?

I found many requests on this but there are no answer.

I need this feature, too. I need to clarify a title to Movie or Drama, and I also want to put the year of the Movie/Drama.

For example:

[2006] [Movie] Wild Things 3
[2008] [Drama] The World They Live In

Is there a way to do that?
