Preventing the WYSIWYG editer from automatically converting to bbCode
I need to prevent the WYSIWYG editer from automatically converting the HTML code formatting into bbCode (HTML has been enabled on my forum). I need it so that next time when the post is edited the WYSIWYG editer will retain the HTML formatting that was applied. Currently what happens is that the HTML code is first applied correctly upon submitting the post, but when returning to edit this post the editer converts the entire post / HTML tags back into bbCode format (as much as possible), which means that all HTML formatting would have to be done all over again. Please let me know if there is a way to prevent the WYSIWYG editor from automatically converting HTML code into bbCode in this way.

I'm glad you solved the problem, But I think it's dangerous to allow users or guests to input HTML into their posts. There are some vulnerabilities that can be breached with malicious javascripts or other codes that can steal information (ex: login / passwords).
It's probably fine if the administrator is allowed to input html into their posts though. |

Thanks for the word of caution, I will ensure that guests / users are not allowed HTML in posts
