vBulletin 3.7x: Quick Reply Inconsistencies...
OK, here's the dilemma.
If you set the option in vBulletin to allow Quick Reply without having to click the Quick Reply button first, it will not let you quote the message you're responding to unless you click that Quick Reply. That, to me, is bad interface design. I am looking for a way to make Quick Reply always active, with the ability to click the "Quote Message in Reply" checkbox, so you don't have to go through that silliness. Is there a way to hack the software to do this? Is there an existing hack? Such a hack, of course, would eliminate the Quick Reply button too since it won't be needed. My apologies if such a thing is already available. Either way, guidance is appreciated. |

But then how will vBulletin know which post to quote?

OK so you're saying that it shouldn't just automatically quote the message above it then?

No need to be rude...
I was just asking a valid question. You never mentioned it should quote the last post by default, in your original post. |

Not being rude. I just want a clarification as to the best way to go about this, if I'm gonna do it, that's all.
