Nice active community, always a good thing in anyones books. The design is nice enough but I would personally change the colour of the thead gradient so it breaks the blue out a little and highlight the tcats better.
The forum status icons do their job nicely though I am mentioning them because they have a white box surrounding them. A little trick I always do when applying icons/text on top of gradients is take a screenshot of the gradient and then copy and paste that gradient onto the psd of the forum icons (any graphic for that matter) and have that as your background layer resulting in no white edging. The sub-forum icons could do with a change for something custom. I always make a point in replacing all default vbulletin stick images on the index page first because it's the first page that people will see. Needless to say, custom icons look better visually pending they compliment the rest of the style and other icons. The "recent members photos" doesn't come without it's minor issues. The text could do with being moved down a little so it's sitting neatly within the gradient and speaking of the gradient yopu'll notice (on the right hand side) that there is a break with the rounded curve which should be addressed and possible fix the left hand side and add the curved corner image in. I also noticed that in some of your forums the Tcat header have redundant background colours showing by the curved corners which should be addressed so that you have crisper/sharper cleaner edging. Again, with the default vbulletin graphics, (what's going on area) you should change the (whos_online, stats, birthday and event) icons for something that compliments the theme. In the forum display i would set about getting (dare i mention it) some custom threadmarkers that will compliment the style rather than those vbulletin stock eyesores. Of course, your site has been doing fairly well for 5 years and whether you see that any of the suggestions I have made valid or otherwise is your choice. Personally, the issues I stated above are minor issues which could be fixed within a day. Anyway, Nice work in building up your community. |
