I am not sure where this should be posted - so mods please place it in the right forum.
One of the biggest problems I am facing after shifting to vBulletin from phpbb is the attachments storage. There is no option in the settings to save the attachments in a seperate server - this become a major issue when you have thousands of downloads and your members are constantly downloading stuff. The server load is very high during peak traffic hours. How exactly can I use multiple web servers if the attachments are stored in a file system - I would need to have multiple copies of the attachments somehow in that case. How do you guys do it? Currently my boards are running from 3 quad core servers - one httpd, 1 mysql and one mail/memcache server. Regards, Roy |
